What You’ll Do

This internship offers placements across multiple UK locations, where interns will become integral members of the Engineering team in either manufacturing or office settings. The role involves supporting hardware and software development, technical support for ongoing projects, and contributing to new product design and validation. Interns will work closely with Lead Engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to both electrical and electronics engineering tasks.

  • Assist Lead Engineers in new product development, including schematic design, research, and prototype testing.
  • Support the production of electrical designs compliant with company and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing teams and select suitable protection solutions for customers.
  • Participate in software testing and coding, depending on experience.
  • Create documentation and technical reports for new designs.
  • Develop and execute design validation test scripts.
  • Investigate design change requests, recommend solutions, and implement engineering changes.
  • Maintain product literature and assist with the development of customised products.
  • Assist with verification and validation of new product designs.
  • Provide project support across various engineering functions.
  • Actively participate in peer and formal design reviews.
  • Build relationships with the extended cohort across the UK and enhance skills through training workshops and Inclusion & Diversity initiatives.

Additional Information

  • Interns are expected to establish themselves within the engineering team and contribute to both technical and collaborative aspects of the role.
  • The scope of responsibilities may be local or regional, depending on placement.
  • Interns will have opportunities to participate in training and development activities, including Inclusion & Diversity initiatives.

Qualifications

Studying for Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; working towards a minimum 2:1 requirement

Skills

Technical writing, design, application knowledge in electrical/electronic engineering, CAD packages, analytical thinking.

High level of motivation, flexibility, and team spirit. Able to work independently and meet deadlines. Displays curiosity and is a competent communicator.
