Meet Lauren, A Senior Auditor

Despite the logistical issues the pandemic presented, I've been given the opportunity to work with a range of organisations such as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, the Scottish Police Authority, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

I really enjoy working with these clients as they provide many different areas and processes, and no two audits are the same.
As part of my day-to-day role, I undertake audit fieldwork, finding out how the clients processes are designed and assessing the operation of their internal controls. Where improvements can be made, we make audit recommendations, and it can be really rewarding seeing these implemented and the impact our recommendations make. Within my first 2 years at Azets, I have been supported in achieving my CIA qualification and have now progressed to studying towards the CMIIA. As a student, I've been given ample study time to prepare for exams and introduced to a whole network of Internal Audit students across Scotland. Azets has been a great place to kickstart my Internal Audit career with so many opportunities. The Internal Audit team has recently expanded to a national service line spanning Scotland, England and Wales and I look forward to working with colleagues and clients across the country as I progress through my career.
