Join Us in 2027
Applications for our 2027 Graduate Programme and student placements will open in September 2026 and close in October 2026. Applications must be submitted through our careers website and should include an online application form, your current CV and a cover letter.
We want to get to know the person behind the application, so this is your chance to tell us about your academic journey, what has sparked your interest in a career in property, any work experience you've gained so far, and the hobbies, interests and experiences that make you unique.
If you're shortlisted, you'll be invited to attend an assessment centre at either our London headquarters or one of our regional hub offices. These typically take place between November and January. We understand that assessment days can feel daunting, so we work hard to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you can be yourself and demonstrate your potential.
During the process, you may be asked to take part in a group exercise, deliver a presentation and attend an interview. Depending on the role and location, there may also be a follow-up interview in your chosen office.
Alongside our graduate opportunities, we offer 12-month placement roles across the UK. These placements provide valuable hands-on experience and are an excellent way to develop your skills while studying. Applications open in September 2026, with interviews taking place between November and January. The recruitment process is typically a single-stage interview held in the office where the placement is based.
For those looking for a shorter opportunity to experience life at Carter Jonas, our paid four-week internship programme offers first-hand exposure to the work carried out across our business. Based in our offices across the UK, the programme provides a great insight into the property industry and what a future graduate career with us could look like. Applications for the next intake will open in early 2027.
We're also passionate about helping people discover the industry, even if a career in property isn't something they've considered before. That's why we'll be running our annual Insight Days in February and October 2026. Designed for students in secondary school, sixth form and university, these events offer a practical introduction to the property profession and the wide range of opportunities available within it. Whether you're already studying a property-related subject or simply curious to learn more, we'd love to welcome you.
Registration details will be available on our website in the coming months.
APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) Academy
The APC is a structured training and assessment program that aspiring chartered surveyors undergo to demonstrate their competence in various areas of the property profession.
Candidates typically undergo a structured training period where they work on projects and tasks that align with the defined competencies. This involves on-the-job learning, guidance from mentors, and attending training sessions or courses.
We organise two APC events, one in September and one in March the following year for graduates soon to be taking their APC exams.
A fantastic opportunity for all our graduates to come together to develop technical skills, prepare for APC assessments and develop their knowledge across their chosen areas of specialism. Of course, all their hard work will be rewarded with some dinner and socialising fun!
