At Mitie Projects, we address a market worth approximately £19bn annually, covering building infrastructure upgrades, energy and renewables, achieving net zero, designing inspirational workplaces, and modernizing the built environment to improve productivity and connectivity.
We offer end-to-end solutions for property portfolios through consulting and advisory services, professional project services, design and build project delivery, and optimizing asset performance.
We unlock value for our clients by, creating an end to end and full asset life-cycle solution for their property portfolio.
- Consulting & advisory
We have over 300 consultants who provide a range of services for our Mitie clients. We lead the development and implementation of our client’s: carbon and energy reduction action plans at building, and portfolio estate level; workplace strategies that improve levels of human experience and colleague productivity; and building technology plans that improve building asset and service performance within the building. Through our partnership with Salesforce and our new Net Zero product we can report on scope 1, scope 2 and soon to be scope 3 carbon emissions and can also develop initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint, which is subsequently managed, and benefits tracked.
2. Professional Project Services (PPS)
Aligned to this consulting capability is our team of strategic asset and project managers who help our clients get the maximum value from their allocated capital budgets to transform their property portfolios. We support our clients in the design and allocation of their allocated capital budget – ensuring alignment to the Clients real estate team’s business goals. Our PPS teams work as “one” alongside our FM teams, to develop lifecycle asset plans, develop design and cost management solutions for relevant projects and then ultimately own the delivery the projects through our supply chain partners or Mitie self-delivery capability (ADB) in line with agreed budgets and schedules.
3. Design and Build project delivery
We have a wide range of design and build capabilities in-house within Mitie, with a national scale to deliver simple and complex projects within the built environment across all asset classes. We cover all asset classes from: offices, retail, data centres, logistics facilities, schools and higher education, mobile telecommunication infrastructure, hospitals and healthcare as well as military facilities.
Our design and build services cover: MEP projects (simple and complex), fabric, interior fit out, lighting, HVAC, solar systems, grid and power connections, battery storage, EV charging, fire and security systems.
Our depth and breadth in product delivery means that we have the ability to integrate individual product solutions to create a full asset strategy, for example, for a new data centre build, we offer: the design and build of the building and structure, the MEP fit out, the power solution and connection to the grid, the fire and security systems, as well as the ability to create renewable power supplies with a battery storage solution.
4. Project Centre of Excellence
The platform underpinning Mitie Projects is the Projects Centre of Excellence - a central enablement capability that drives innovation and productivity, and manages the operating platform including Construction, Design & Management regulations, Project Management playbook, and QHSE standards and training. It also manages our projects technology platform which includes standard project management tools (such as Asite) design technologies, BIM models, and building sensor technologies. It also acts as a knowledge centre to support our 2,500 employees across the business.
5. Optimising asset performance and maximise productivity.
Once built, we complete the asset lifecycle through our facilities management teams – again leveraging data and technology from our technology platform and ensuring a seamless integration with the FM asset management systems from which the operational routines can be then implemented. Over time, we continue to work with our clients on optimising their assets over the longer term, from which new consulting and project assignments may then arise.
