Teach First is an education charity that trains brilliant teachers, equips school leaders and campaigns for educational justice. Since 2003, we’ve reached over 1.5 million pupils facing disadvantage.

Driven by the knowledge that education transforms lives, we’ve trained over 20,000 teachers to work in the schools that need them most, changing the outcome for pupils living in poverty. We are building a movement of Change Makers and Change Partners, making sure every child, no matter their background, gets the opportunities they deserve.

A child’s future should be full of promise and possibilities.

For a child growing up in poverty, all too often their future is already written. More

likely to fall behind in school. More likely to leave without the grades they need. And

more likely to remain in poverty for the rest of their lives.

Education can flip the script – creating opportunities and bringing hope.

As a leading education charity, for over twenty years Teach First has been training

teachers and leaders, supporting schools and speaking out. Giving children in the

most deprived communities a fighting chance at a successful future.

Yet millions are still being denied opportunities by poverty and inequality.

We are building a movement of Change Makers and Change Partners. United in the

belief that no child’s educational success should be limited by their socio-economic

background.

Our Change Makers start by leading change in the classroom and, wherever their career

takes them, they continue to champion children’s futures. And our Change

Partners help us reach more pupils facing educational disadvantage than ever before.

Together, we are making sure every child, no matter their background, gets the

opportunities they need to thrive.

We’re all about fighting injustice. A vital part of the work we do is increasing the representation of our teaching workforce to better reflect the UK population and the communities we serve.  

As one of the largest education charities in the UK, we’ve launched multiple campaigns to help drive lasting change at a societal level. Our recruitment process ensures that no one is at a disadvantage because of their ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or background. And our teacher training has been developed to make sure all our programme members are prepared and educated on how to be inclusive teachers and leaders.
