The Opportunity
Role: Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying) Graduate

At Mace Construct, you’ll be at the heart of bringing projects to life through hands-on delivery. Working on live construction sites, you’ll help turn complex and innovative designs into reality – ensuring they’re built safely, on time, and to the highest standards. Our site teams typically start early and finish in the late afternoon, so adaptability and enthusiasm are key. It’s a progressive environment where you’ll see the results of your work taking shape every day.
Our Specialist Services team delivers best-in-class engineering and logistics solutions that raise the bar on quality, safety and sustainable delivery. Our in-house Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) experts add value from the earliest design stages through to planning and delivery, helping clients save time, reduce cost and make quicker decisions. By combining technical expertise with trusted supply chain partners, we provide a full-service solution for some of the UK’s most complex projects. Join us in Specialist Services and you’ll help deliver innovative solutions at the heart of projects that shape skylines and communities.
What you’ll do
In Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying), you will be responsible for the commercial management of work packages, supporting package managers and reporting into the project quantity surveyors. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for the commercial management of subcontract packages

Supporting the procurement of subcontract packages and materials
-
Supporting the commercial team, including administering client and subcontract changes
-
Feeding into the risk and opportunity reporting
-
Mitigating risks and protecting packages/project margins
-
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
You will also work towards gaining professional membership of a professional association, fully funded and supported by us with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

About you

A future or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject.

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications)
Given the nature of our work, flexibility is key. Our projects and clients are based in various locations, so you should be prepared to travel frequently to different project sites or Mace Construct offices. A positive and adaptable approach to travel is therefore essential, as it may be a regular part of your role. To support this, Mace Construct offers travel expense reimbursements for business travel, including mileage, public transport fares, and, where necessary, accommodation.
