The Personal Injury and Court of Protection Team provides specialist support to clients who have received compensation awards or who require ongoing financial management due to mental capacity considerations.
This university work placement role offers an undergraduate student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a specialist, client-focused team. Based in the Manchester office, the role supports the Head of the Personal Injury and Court of Protection Team and contributes to delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.

We’re looking for university students who are thoughtful and open to learning. You don’t need a finance background, but you should be motivated to grow and ready to make a positive impact.
What you’ll experience
Over 9 months you will provide administrative and project-based work, supporting our client facing teams. You will have an opportunity to understand how we support our clients, and how things operate behind the scenes.
You will provide comprehensive administrative and client life cycle processing support to ensure effective and efficient operations of their local investment management team and the wider business to deliver an excellent client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Meeting Support

Supporting colleagues at client meetings, including preparation and follow-up
-
Preparing professional meeting packs and supporting documentation
-
Completing client suitability follow-up actions and maintaining accurate records
-
Arranging and coordinating client meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Client Events and Engagement
-
Supporting the planning and delivery of client events
-
Assisting with event logistics and on-the-day support
-
Supporting post-event communications and follow-up
-
Administration and Team Support:
-
Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Head of the team
-
Maintaining client records in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Supporting ad hoc projects and tasks as required
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the placement, the successful candidate will have:

Gained practical experience within a leading investment management and financial planning firm

Developed an understanding of Personal Injury and Court of Protection services

Built knowledge of mental capacity considerations and vulnerable client support
-
Strengthened professional skills including organisation, communication, and confidentiality

Gained exposure to a regulated financial services environment
