If you’re looking for a placement year as part of your undergraduate degree – our pathway can help you put your best foot forward on the road to being a qualified accountant.
Our Finance teams are based at our East Midlands office.
The start date for this role will be Mid July 2025 ensuring you get a smooth handover from our current placement students before they return to their studies.

A placement year at Cooper Parry is not "a year out” – you will need to be committed and curious about finance and its role in a growing and successful business , how everything you do contributes to the way the business delivers its objectives. The more you put into your finance placement at Cooper Parry the more you benefit, and we have seen our successful placements return to finance and secure graduate roles in Cooper Parry and other professional firms on completion of their studies.
- Our minimum requirement would be to have completed a minimum of 3 A Levels or equivalent with grades BBC (with a minimum of one A Level in numerical or business-related subjects)
- You should currently be studying at a UK University and seeking an undergraduate placement year.
At Cooper Parry we are mindful of candidates who may have extenuating circumstances whilst completing their education and did not meet the minimum academic requirements. - Enjoys being organised and providing support to the finance team
- Comfortable in adaptable working – working for different members of the team and on a variety of tasks
- Ability to work independently but also a true team player
- Great attention to detail & excellent communication skills
- Able to work well under pressure
- Self-motivated to learn on the job and embrace CP’s passion for learning
- Able to pick things up quickly and get on with the job
About the day to day
- Carry out transactional work such as raising invoices, processing expenses and invoices
- Prepare routine and ad hoc financial information for the business, these maybe through scorecards, dashboards, reports
- Prepare and analyse data from multiple systems as and when required
- Continuous improvement of existing processes and systems are encouraged by all members of the team
