Whether it's the university you attend, the train that gets you to work or the hospital where you're taken care of when you're unwell, infrastructure impacts each of us every day and is the backbone of our communities and economy. Building infrastructure requires long term commitments, billions of pounds and the combined skills and expertise of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of people. Operis is proud of its contribution to this eco-system and the part we play in developing and shaping the communities, cities, towns and countries in which we live.

We make this contribution through our four complementary sets of services:

  • Our world-class financial modelling and model audit services gives lenders, investors, project developers and project authorities the confidence that their numbers are right. Whether we are building a simple and clear Excel model to help our client better understand their project, or we are auditing another firm's model to give lenders and equity investors reassurance, the client's goal and completing the transaction is always at the forefront of our mind.

  • We are leading international, independent advisers in project finance with particular expertise in social infrastructure, transport, energy, renewable and digital projects. Our advisory service helps public and private sector clients create the best project structure in order to attract the finest pricing and the best global expertise.

  • Our training services have helped thousands of people build their careers over 25 years using our superior financial modelling methodology.

  • Our unique software, the Operis Analysis Kit (OAK) is one of the world's leading specialist Excel software add-ins for developing, reviewing and interpreting large, complex spreadsheets.

This role is part of our graduate recruitment scheme, the first step in a career in financial modelling. With your mentor to guide you, from the outset you will be immersed in real-life global projects across a variety of infrastructure, renewable and energy sectors.

Being hands-on will help you to quickly develop your finance and analytical skills, while offering you a broad base of experience and knowledge. Your daily tasks might include building a financial model for a renewable energy project, completing the detailed analysis of a model and associated documentation to provide a client peace of mind on their numbers, or helping a client put together the capital required for a multi-billion-pound transit project. There are ongoing opportunities to both learn and teach others - both formally and informally - and you will constantly find yourself challenged.

If you are someone who:

  • loves working with numbers and solving number puzzles;

  • enjoys taking on difficult challenges and solving problems by finding creative solutions;

  • really pays attention to detail and stays focused ensuring nothing falls through the cracks;

  • enjoys thinking on their feet and learning new things in a fast-moving environment;

  • communicates clearly and confidently in writing, over the phone and over video meetings;

  • is motivated and driven and volunteers for new challenges without waiting to be asked;

  • thrives when working as part of a team but also feels confident working independently; and

  • you have a numerical Bachelor or Masters degree with strong academic credentials, it would be great to hear from you.

Prior knowledge of finance is not required, as we will provide you with training unmatched in its ability to turn new graduates into experts in modelling, advisory and project finance. We would love you to consider joining us and building your career with Operis.

What we offer:

  • a starting salary of £35,000 per annum, rising to £38,000 on successful completion of a 6 month probationary period

  • a £1,000 signing bonus

  • 26 days of annual leave per year

  • private medical insurance and health benefit (on successful completion of probationary period)

  • matched pension contributions

  • in-house training and mentorship

  • opportunity to study for the CFA qualification

Please highlight these in your application form and your CV/Cover Letter.
