Job Description
We are seeking a committed individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and to tight deadlines.
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will be part of the vibrant Streetcare Services team within our Environment Directorate and be at the forefront of lighting up our community, ensuring our public spaces shine bright to keep our residents safe.
You will assist senior engineers and the Public Lighting department with day-to-day maintenance, fault repairs, and lighting designs while developing your skills and knowledge in public lighting.
As part of your daily routine, you will shadow and learn from experienced staff. You will attend onsite inspections, create job packs, assist with projects and designs, prepare reports and contracts, and attend relevant training courses and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day maintenance of public lighting assets.
- Support fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Contribute to lighting designs and project work.
- Attend onsite inspections and surveys.
- Create job packs and technical documentation.
- Prepare reports and contracts.
- Shadow and learn from experienced staff.
- Attend relevant training courses and work toward qualifications.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree level Class II Division II or better in a relevant Electrical degree, or equivalent.
- Good standard of written and verbal communication.
- Good standard of computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
