Salary
Salary starting at Grade 6 (£23.17 per hour, inclusive of London Allowance). Contact teaching hours are paid at a multiplier of 2.5 basic hours, with annual leave accrued and paid in March, July and December.
Location
Bloomsbury, London (Successful candidate must be based in the UK for the duration of their contract).
Contract Type
Part-time, Fixed Term subject to SOAS Term dates and module-specific responsibilities.

About The Role
The School of Arts has vacancies for fixed-term Graduate Teaching Assistants to support the teaching and delivery of the SOAS-Effat University Joint Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies during the four-week teaching period in July (7 July–1 August 2025).
Responsibilities may include assisting with teaching, coordinating and overseeing students during museum and gallery visits, course preparation and administration, marking, and other tasks as deemed necessary by the programme convenor.
Skills And Experience
Candidates should have specialist knowledge and experience in disciplines related to the contracted course—particularly in museum studies, museology, heritage studies, and/or curating.
They must be able to design and develop lessons and deliver engaging teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students from diverse backgrounds. Strong time management skills are essential, including the ability to plan work independently and meet varied deadlines.
Professional working proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Payment Details
Payment will generally be made over a period of ten, seven or four months according to your teaching and marking responsibilities. Annual salary will be calculated based on the number of contracted hours.
