Role description

Who are PortSwigger:

PortSwigger is a company built around a simple belief: security should empower people, not slow them down. We create world-class tooling that helps security teams and developers uncover and fix real vulnerabilities, the kind that actually matter. Our products are crafted with care, backed by deep research, and shaped by a relentless drive to make the web safer for everyone.

We’re a successful, engineering-led organisation where small squads are empowered to take forward work in a suitable way, high-leverage work. Curiosity fuels us, craftsmanship defines us, and mutual support keeps us growing together. Here, you’ll have real agency, clear direction, and the freedom to push boundaries, supported by thoughtful coaching and a culture that values learning as much as delivery.

The Finance Tribe:

The Finance tribe exists to help PortSwigger make better decisions. We partner closely with teams across the business to provide clear, trustworthy insight into how the company is performing today and how it might perform tomorrow. By combining rigorous financial thinking with a deep understanding of how the business works, we enable leaders to invest wisely, move quickly, and stay focused on what matters most.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build, maintain, and iterate financial and analytical models that reflect real business drivers by using a variety of tools such as SQL, BI platforms (ThoughtSpot), Google Sheets/Excel and AI.
  • Develop and refine revenue forecasting models, ensuring projections accurately reflect business performance and key assumptions
  • Translate ambiguous questions into structured models and analysis that support decision-making
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand context, assumptions, and requirements
  • Analyse data, test assumptions, and surface insights clearly and honestly
  • Improve existing models and processes, spotting opportunities for simplification, automation, and systemisation (including integrating data directly from BI tools and experimenting with AI-assisted workflows)
  • Experiment with new tools and techniques, including AI, to improve modelling and planning workflows
  • Present findings in a clear, accessible way for non-finance audiences

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • 0–3 years’ experience in an analytical, finance, FP&A, or financial modelling-focused role
  • First-class honours degree from a leading university, in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or a closely related STEM subject
  • AAB at A-level (including an A in Maths)
  • Strong financial modelling capability in Excel or Google Sheets, including building and iterating models from scratch
  • Experience contributing to or developing revenue forecasting models, with an understanding of how business drivers translate into financial outputs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, grounded in a data-first mindset and sound commercial judgement
  • Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders and explain complex financial concepts clearly and simply
  • Intellectual curiosity about how businesses operate and how financial models support strategic decisions
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, changing requirements, and fast-paced environments

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to FP&A, financial planning, or business partnering
  • An understanding of a SaaS or subscription-based business, with familiarity of recurring revenue forecasting and key metrics such as annual recurring revenue, renewals, and churn.
  • Experience working with BI platforms, building automated data pipelines or writing SQL queries.
  • Interest in applying AI to modelling, forecasting, or planning

How this role develops

Over time, you’ll:

  • Build a deep understanding of PortSwigger’s commercial model and key business drivers
  • Take increasing ownership of forecasting, modelling, and strategic analysis
  • Move from supporting analysis to shaping strategic decisions

From day one, you’ll work closely with the VP of Finance and senior stakeholders across the business.

In 2–3 years, you won’t feel like a “junior” analyst. You’ll be a highly capable FP&A professional with strong modelling expertise, systems fluency and direct exposure to senior leadership decision-making.

We actively support professional development, including sponsorship for relevant qualifications, typically CIMA, or an equivalent alternative where appropriate

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries that reward contribution, plus:

  • 8% employer pension contribution
  • Share options after 1 year
  • Private medical insurance (Bupa)
  • Life assurance and income protection
  • 25 days holiday, plus 3 day recharge over the Christmas break and UK public bank holidays
  • Car/Bike Scheme
  • Free breakfast and lunch prepared daily by our on-site chefs
  • Onsite gym with yoga, boxing, pilates, HIT classes and more
