As a summer internship student, you will typically be working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing your time and rapidly accruing a wealth of experience and skills. Hence, no two days in Frazer-Nash will be the same.
As an engineering summer intern you’ll be surrounded by a collaborative engineering community to support you, deliver impact, learn and excel. This community includes your graduate engineer peers and those in the first few years of their careers through to internationally recognised experts with many decades of experience. Given the multidisciplinary and collaborative nature of our work you will be supporting not just your immediate teams, but also in a range of other fields – whether it’s engineering, digital or human sciences, we’re an interesting bunch.
The Role:
This is a summer internship within one of our nuclear facing teams who work within the civil nuclear sector, covering new build, support for generating stations, and preparations and delivery of defueling and decommissioning.
Within these areas you may be involved in delivery of a diverse range of projects to our clients working from component level to system level, throughout all aspects of project lifecycle (from R&D to decommissioning) and in conjunction with other technical disciplines.
Your projects could include:
- Supporting design or modification optioneering / engineering decision making processes,
- Assessing the integrity of nuclear power station equipment for extended life,
- Risk identification and mitigation solutioneering,
- Data analysis, benefits mapping, business case development,
- Supporting site transitions form new build to generation, from generation to defueling, or from defueling to decommissioning.

You will need:
- To be on track to obtain a 2:1 degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant scientific bias.
- To be an open-minded systems thinker with a curious, collaborative, and creative approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to work well in both a team environment and on your own initiative.
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Step 2: Measure Potential - Arctic Shores’ task-based assessment. You will be asked to complete some exciting, engaging tasks which will enable us to get to know you better! In return, you’ll receive a personalised feedback report.
Step 3: Video Interview - Situation based & technical questions that are related to the important criteria needed to be successful in the role.
Step 4: Explore Interview – This one-hour virtual/in-person interview includes the opportunity to learn about what we do and find out more about what a career at Frazer-Nash has to offer. You will also be asked a combination of competency and technical questions.
Step 5: Decision/Feedback - You will receive feedback no matter the outcome of your final interview.
