This role is designed specifically for undergraduate students seeking a placement year or industrial placement as part of their degree programme.

Our People Team is made up of over 40 friendly, dedicated colleagues. Together, we support the firm across five key streams: Recruitment & Resourcing (R&R), Human Resources, People Analytics, Talent Development, and People Business Partnering.

Our Resourcing team, which is part of the R&R stream, supports the planning and deployment of audit professionals onto client projects across multiple business areas. The team has grown significantly over the past few years and now consists of six specialists.

Within the Talent Development stream, our Technical Training team designs and delivers high quality technical learning across the firm. By collaborating with stakeholders, supporting knowledge-sharing, and driving continuous improvement, the team enhances firmwide quality through impactful training.

This placement role is an opportunity to work across both of these areas - supporting the workforce planning and deployment processes, as well as contributing to the planning, coordination and delivery of technical training. You will receive full training on our systems. and work closely with friendly, supportive teams across the full People Team.

Key Responsibilities

Joint and Cross-People Team Support

  • Managing queries sent to the shared team email inboxes

  • Providing ad‑hoc assistance across wider People Team activities, projects and events

  • Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across Resourcing, Technical Training and the wider People Team

Resourcing

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date client project and booking information in Dayshape (our resourcing system), including hours, fees, and period end dates.

  • Amend and manage client bookings in Dayshape in line with Manager requests and agreed Resourcing Principles.

  • Ensure all job bookings are applied consistently and fairly across teams, adhering to established resourcing guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Resourcing Advisors to add new trainees, remove leavers, and reallocate client work as required.

  • Work closely with the Early Talent team to ensure trainee study schedules, firm training events, and related commitments are accurately reflected in Dayshape.

  • Partner with the wider Resourcing team to support forward planning for client work across business areas.

  • Attend resourcing meetings and provide follow‑up administrative support, including updates and actions arising from discussions.

Technical Training

  • Supporting with administrative tasks such as scheduling training sessions, tracking pre‑work, arranging software access and updating attendance records.

  • Coordinating training delivery for trainees and qualified staff

  • Collating and reporting training feedback to support continuous improvement

Role Requirements

This 12-month placement is for undergraduate students, looking to complete a placement to complement their degree. Students applying should be on-track for a 2:1 or above, and demonstrate the following skills:

  • A strong team focused approach and flexibility around tasks and priorities.

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build credible relationships.

  • Ownership of personal workload and eagerness to learn.

  • A professional and proactive attitude with a can-do mindset.

  • Interest in developing a commercial understanding and gaining insight into corporate environments
