Placement Student - Technical Sourcing

We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Sourcing Placement Student to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate/CBS Business Segment in UK, Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2026.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Ensure our suppliers continue to provide the best quality and value

• Liaising with a range of suppliers across the globe.

• Invite new suppliers to bid and review the bid process.

• Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues.

• Process engineering releases to take the appropriate purchasing actions.

• Support Cummins in ensuring we stay competitive.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Working towards a degree in preferably Engineering/Business related although not limited to these subjects.

• IT Skills. Customer-facing & customer support experience would be a plus.

• Communication skills, Positive attitude, great personal motivation

• Team player, able to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with project’s needs.
