BSP-Alcentra is a $78bn global expert in alternative credit, managing liquid credit, private credit, structured credit and other strategies. Join our Liquid Credit Product Team, supporting our investment and sales teams across Leveraged Loan, Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) and Multi-Credit (Loans, High-Yield, Structured Credit and Special Situations) portfolios. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the wider team on data procurement, building charts, working with our Portfolio Analytics team and producing analysis for ad hoc queries. Secondary responsibility will be to help produce recurring deliverables (e.g. client reports and presentations, writing commentary). This requires knowing the end-to-end process inside out, reaching out to relevant stakeholders across the business to ensure timely delivery. Anticipating issues, trouble shooting and managing expectations will be valued.

Job Purpose:
The Product Intern will be located in London and will report to the Liquid Credit Product Team Heads. The Product Management team perform numerous and differentiated roles, liaising between BSP-Alcentra’ s investment teams, sales teams and external clients. Tasks undertaken by the Product Management team that the successful candidate may assist with include:
Monitoring investor and sales requests, help build slides to support sales efforts and ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Updating presentations in an accurate and timely manner from a variety of market and strategy data sources to be used for existing client performance updates and marketing opportunities to prospective clients.
Contributing to the production of monthly and quarterly performance reports to our existing clients by providing commentary on market performance and strategy performance, as well as performance attribution analysis.
Providing market analysis and peer analysis (including both supporting data and commentary) to support the efforts of our sales team at BSP-Alcentra and the wider Franklin Templet on sales resources.
Key skills required by the ideal successful candidate include:
Training will be provided to you, and your responsibilities will gradually expand as you become more experienced. The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Right to work in the UK from the start date
- Bachelor's degree required, in a STEM subject or Economics
- Demonstrated interest in asset management/financial services/credit would be valued
- Fluent English, excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Additional languages a plus.
- Process-focused: ability to follow established procedures and workflows to ensure efficient operations
- Attention to detail: High focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks and communications
- Customer-focused: commitment to providing excellent service to investors and stakeholders
- Interest in/comfort with technology: proficiency in manipulating data via Excel and building out slides in Powerpoint
- Product knowledge: Some understanding of credit would be a positive. An ability and eagerness to develop knowledge with respect to BSP Alcentra’s sub-investment grade credit strategi es and wider business is essential.
- Self-sufficiency: Ability to show initiative, manage processes and deliver output independently once trained. Logical problem -solving skills highly valued.
- Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with colleagues across the business.
