Polar Capital – Company Overview
Polar Capital is a fund management company with a focus to best serve our wide range of clients. Since its foundation in 2001, we have grown steadily and currently have thirteen autonomous investment teams managing specialist, active portfolios (differentiated from indices), with a combined assets under management of £28bn and predominantly invested in listed equities. Our thirteen investment teams are supported by marketing, administrative and operational staff. Our head office is in London, Victoria, where almost 170 staff are based with a further 26 colleagues located in nine small offices around the world including France, Switzerland, China and the US.
Programme information
You will join us as a Product Management Trainee as part of the Investment20/20 Trainee Program where you will develop the key skills and knowledge required for your role. The role of the Product team is varied, encompassing fund governance, product lifecycle management and product development activities but you will also have exposure to all business areas, thereby gaining a breadth of industry knowledge and experience to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.
As part of the Investment20/20 Program, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 100 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events.
The traineeship is a fixed term one-year contract paying £30,000 per annum. You will receive 27 days annual leave. The role is based in London. The successful candidate will be expected to be in the office five days a week until 3-months’ probation is passed. This will change to four days per week, with one day working from home, at the manager’s discretion.
Responsibilities include:

Supporting the team of two managers, one senior analyst and five executives in the creation, maintenance and distribution of product marketing materials, including but not limited to fund factsheets, due diligence questionnaires, valuations and holdings reports.

Act as a key point of contact for product-related queries, responding to internal stakeholders and external third parties, while ensuring fund information displayed on third-party platforms is accurate, consistent, and kept up to date.

Requirements
If you are a graduate who has an interest in working within financial services and have the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:

Keen desire to gain experience within the investment management industry in a product or marketing role or similar sector/role.

High level of attention to detail.

Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Inquisitive and enjoy interpreting information and problem solving.
Must have skills

Excellent level of literacy and numeracy

Ability to work with large data sets and to tight deadlines

Proficient in MS Office programs (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Organised and efficient, with keen attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills

Confident and proactive approach

An interest in automation and process improvement – exposure to VBA, SQL, Python or similar a plus

Ability to use AI tools responsibly in a professional setting
