See it differently
You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently – it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.
Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.
The Opportunity
On this 6–12-week Summer Internship, the Knowledge Management role will support all Arup University (AU) programmes and capabilities in strengthening knowledge-sharing approaches and community-led learning to develop and deliver projects, workshops and engagements for Arup and external clients.
It is an exciting opportunity to work within AU and the global Knowledge Team in a cross-disciplinary way. The role will support the capture, organisation and sharing of knowledge, as well as the development and facilitation of communities of practice. This includes carrying out research, synthesising insights, and helping to design engagements and resources that enable collaboration and learning across teams.
The role will be immersed in understanding how knowledge flows within organisations, contributing to the development of strategies and frameworks that support knowledge exchange, collective learning and innovation. The intern will work on a range of internal and external projects across areas such as regenerative design, urban futures and knowledge systems.
Key responsibilities for the Knowledge Management role include:
-
Supporting AU teams in the delivery of projects, events and engagements focused on knowledge sharing and building community of practice
-
Assisting in the development, coordination and facilitation of communities of practice across different themes and disciplines
-
Conducting research and synthesising insights to support knowledge management strategies, tools and frameworks
-
Creating and organising content such as guidance materials, reports, toolkits and workshop resources to enable effective knowledge exchange
-
Contributing to the wider community of practice within AU, particularly around knowledge management and collaborative learning
The role will be supported by peers and mentors to learn more about the structure and work of AU, participate in industry-leading events and engagements, and contribute to impactful client projects. As part of AU and Arup, they will gain exposure to a wide range of expertise and knowledge and explore how effective knowledge management and communities of practice can help shape better futures for people, places and the planet.
