Global Water Intelligence (GWI), the leading publisher and events organiser serving the international water industry, is looking to hire an inquisitive and resourceful Technology Research Analyst to join our team.

The global water sector is at the frontline of the fight against climate change, whose effects manifest themselves primarily through the water cycle. A big part of addressing water scarcity, more intense rainfall events and ensuing water quality issues is the effective deployment of water technologies. These include treatment technologies for desalination, water reuse and water conservation, as well as digital technologies to take the sector to the next level in efficiencies. Global Water Intelligence is seeking a budding analyst to produce cutting edge analysis on water technologies at a very exciting time for the sector.

You will work across our publishing platform – data and editorial - providing timely market intelligence on water technology markets for our clients. This will include analytical pieces, brief news stories and working with data that shows compelling narratives for the sector. The role will require working in a tight-knit technology-focused team as well as with the broader content, data and development teams at Global Water Intelligence.

You will need to identify key information through research and analysis, organise your thoughts and express them concisely. Our business is built on speaking to the right people and asking the right questions. We need people who can proactively network with individuals to gather ideas and information.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to tell a story and highlight key information concisely.
  • A nose for information that actually matters, and a doggedness in the pursuit of it.
  • The ability to synthesise complex issues into simple graphics in order to feed an increasingly time-poor consumer.
  • Be comfortable with data collection and analysis with the ability to translate data trends into interesting stories and work closely with data analysts to uncover new insights.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly in interviewing and building relationships with external contacts, and presenting stories and key ideas to a wider audience.
  • Some experience in a research/editorial environment is advantageous, and experience in climate/cleantech research or reporting is favourable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including taking initiative, showing ownership of tasks, and managing your time.

Additional benefits:

  • International travel, opportunity to regularly attend international water conferences
  • Company pension plan
  • Holiday allowance of 25 days per year (pro rata)
  • Opportunity to attend relevant training courses and conferences to develop within the role
