Primary Teacher Year 5 (Urgent)

The Role

The British School of Brasilia is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate for the position of Year 5 Class Teacher to start as soon as possible.

BSB is a member of the British Schools Foundation and was established in 2016 to service both international and Brazilian families, keen to enjoy the benefits of a British style, international school.

Our new Year 5 teacher will report to the Head of Primary and be responsible for all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment for that class as part of the Year 5 team. All applicants must be immediately available and willing to travel to Brasilia at very short notice. We will consider a short-term contract until June 30th for a suitable candidate who is unable to commit for the next academic year.

The Person

We are seeking an outstanding practitioner who is able to achieve excellent outcomes and engage fully in both the personal and academic development of pupils on a day-to-day basis.

Essential Requirements

• Have some UK or International teaching experience relevant to the position

• Hold an appropriate teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE) or equivalent

• Have a commitment to or proven track record of raising standards of attainment

• Be an outstanding teacher

• Be enthusiastic and demonstrate a positive approach to all aspects of school life

• Consistently apply school policies

• Have a keen interest and engage fully in the personal development of pupils

• Be firmly committed to the extracurricular life of the school

• Be well organised and create a stimulating learning environment

• Be a reflective practitioner and continually strive to improve performance

• Display a commitment to curriculum innovation
