Meet Oskar!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?

I have been with Societe Generale a little over two years now, starting as a summer intern in 2023 with the prime services & clearing sales team. I also spent time as a trainee with the team before joining the Societe Generale Graduate Programme in 2024. During the first five months of the Graduate Programme, I rotated with the cross asset institutional sales team, before re-joining the prime services team in February 2025.

My educational background includes a B.Sc. in Business Management from King’s College London, and an M.Sc. in Management from London Business School. 

What do you find most interesting with the sector/industry you’re in?

Personally, part of the reason why I wanted to join the financial services sector is because I have always been a very competitive person, whether it be through sports, or academically. Finance is an industry where I can satisfy my competitive spirit, whilst working with incredibly intelligent colleagues and clients.

Professionally, I enjoy that every day is different, and that you always must be on your toes to find solutions to your clients’ problems. It is satisfying to help clients achieve their goals.

Finally, any tips for anyone who’d like to apply for a similar role?

I am sure if you are reading this, many people have told you to start early, but it is true, you need to start looking for opportunities and applying early. It also helps to find contacts in the industry to reach out to (careers fairs or networking events are good for this), and have a think about what area of the financial services industry you would be interested in (it is very varied!).
