Rafael Infantes, EIA Technician (Synthesia, Barcelona) at Kingspan

Q.1 What does your job involve?

I work as an Automation and Control Systems Engineer with Kingspan’s chemical division Synthesia Technology, based in Castellbisbal, Spain.

Working in the Engineering and Operations department my tasks vary on a daily basis, from solving all the control systems’ problems that appear during production, to the design and implementation of new functionalities within the existing facilities and the new ones.

Q.2 What is the most interesting project you’ve been involved in?  

I think that as every engineer, I enjoy being able to understand how the things work but, I enjoy even more finding out why something doesn't and finding a way of solving it, so, having the opportunity to deal with complex problems every day is something that I find very interesting and enriching, as every day will be different.

Q.3 What advice would you give to new Graduates joining our Company?

To new graduates joining the company I would recommend them to prepare to learn a lot, to push their limits and try to step outside their comfort zone from time to time. When joining Kingspan, you are joining a company that will help you grow both as a professional and as a person, therefore, you are the one who will decide how far you want to go.

Q.4 What excites you most about Kingspan?

The thing that excites me the most about working with Kingspan is being able to say that every hour I spend working on a project, I am helping the company with achieving the mision of ensuring sustainability and nature respect, which I consider is the only way to a bright future for our society.

And last but not least, working with a team made up of highly skilled individuals that helps you with everything, no matter when, is something I'm very grateful for also.
