Luther-Donnell Intern Profile

Hi, I’m Luther-Donnell Olushola, and I’m studying Biomedical Science at the University of Warwick. I joined Otsuka in June 2024 as the European Market Access Intern, focusing on the pricing side of market access. It’s been a really rewarding experience so far, giving me a behind-the-scenes look at how pricing strategies support patient access across different healthcare systems and much needed exposure to the pharmaceutical industry!

In my day-to-day, I keep our pricing database up to date, track any price changes, constantly learn about the ever-changing pharma industry processes, I also learn about the different pricing rules across European countries and apply this knowledge through presentations which are a great way of developing and honing core skills for employment. I also get to work with external agencies on projects for products in our pipeline, which has been a great way to learn how regional strategies come together.

For anyone applying to internships in the pharmaceutical industry, my advice is to show genuine curiosity about how the field works - coming in with a bit of background knowledge not only sets you apart but also makes it easier to jump into meaningful work from day one!
