Meet Jayana, a Senior Auditor at Audit Wales

I first joined Audit Wales as a Graduate Trainee straight out of university in 2018, having been attracted to the opportunity to contribute to the work they do in holding the public sector to account, whilst gaining a professional qualification.

Senior Auditor

Audit Wales

After qualifying I was promoted to Senior Auditor, and I enjoy the greater responsibility this entails.

I've worked on audits across local government, health, and central government, and no two audits are the same – each has its own unique challenges and opportunities for development. As a Senior Auditor I have had increased responsibility on larger audits and lead on smaller ones. This involves liaising with client staff and supporting team members with their work.

There is a very supportive working environment at Audit Wales, as colleagues working across different audits help each other with complex areas, and we have a lot of in-depth discussions about our work whilst in the office. I also spend a lot of time coaching trainees, both with their day-to-day audit work and their professional studies, which I find very rewarding.
