Meet Aaron an Engineer at AWE

AWE

I have been interested in nuclear engineering for a long time, so AWE was a perfect fit for me when looking for graduate programmes. AWE boasts some of the best, and sometimes only experts in their fields, and the opportunity to work with and learn from them was another huge draw.

The graduate scheme is very varied, and as someone who wasn’t sure exactly what type of engineer they wanted to be, the opportunity to experience so many different types was invaluable to me. The amount of support available on the graduate scheme is unparalleled, with hours that you can put away for self-development and side projects such as work in other areas, conventions, and university outreach, meaning that you can focus on developing yourself as much as your skills. Training is provided and paid for through the scheme, from engineering specific skills such as NX training to workshops to develop teamwork and leadership skills. Having an ever-growing grad community means that there’s a healthy social life as well, and with our own committee for social events, there’s always something fun to do outside of work hours, especially on the non-working Friday we have every 2 weeks.
