The Guardian UK 300: top media and advertising employers

…as voted for by students and graduates

The Guardian UK 300 is the largest and most comprehensive annual survey of student opinion on graduate careers and employers. The survey determines not only the most popular 300 graduate employers in the UK overall, but also the most popular graduate employers in a range of career sectors, including media and advertising.

The top graduate employers for the media and advertising sector are listed in the table below. The top three employers remain the same as last year: BBC TV, Google and Channel 4. Bloomsbury Publishing has risen from sixth to fourth and Sky has risen from seventh to sixth. Random House and HarperCollins have both entered the top ten of this sector in eighth and tenth place respectively.

Students interested in the media and advertising sector…

  • were most often studying media, English and business/management
  • liked engaging with employers through social media and social networking sites more than in any other sector (58.8%)
  • thought it would be tough to get a job in 2016, more than respondents in any other sector (27%).*
