What is your role at bet365? Tell us about your team: Their purpose and responsibilities.
As a Digital Media Executive at bet365, my role centres around driving effective and responsible paid media strategies across various regulated markets. I collaborate closely with the Digital Media Manager in Gibraltar, focusing on maximising our digital presence through targeted campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, X Ads Manager and META Ads Manager.
Our main responsibility is to make sure that all marketing efforts follow specific market regulations while delivering high-quality, impactful campaigns. This involves managing both paid social channels and broader advertising initiatives, including buying ad space and sponsorships.
I support the Digital Media Lead, contributing to the planning, execution, and analysis of large-scale advertising efforts, constantly optimising our media buying based on performance data.
Is this your first role with bet365? Tell us about the transition from uni into the workplace.
Having recently completed the Marketing Graduate Scheme, I've found the transition into full-time work to be a positive experience. Initially, I was a bit daunted by the size of the office and the number of people, especially coming from a much smaller business. But I quickly discovered that despite the large environment, I had the opportunity to interact with a wide range of people, from all different backgrounds, which has been a fantastic way to network internally.
At times, it can feel intimidating, especially when engaging with senior management in Gibraltar, but I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and approachable everyone is. Regardless of their role, colleagues are always open to questions, which has made the adjustment much smoother and more enjoyable. Overall, this supportive culture has greatly enhanced my transition from university to the workplace.

What training did you receive to support you in your role?
To support me in my role, the Digital Media Lead created a comprehensive training plan. A key part of this plan involved setting aside time for me to speak with the owners of paid social and paid search channels. These discussions deepened my understanding of how each channel operates and how they can synergistically support one another. This collaborative learning experience, combined with early ownership of projects large marketing campaigns, has greatly enhanced my skills and confidence in managing digital media efforts.
What is the most challenging part about your role?
The most challenging part of my role involves managing the impact of external factors that can disrupt our campaigns, such as platforms not functioning as intended or experiencing technical issues. These disruptions can significantly affect performance and they require a quick response to prevent any negative impact.

What is your biggest achievement so far at bet365?
My biggest achievement at bet365 so far has been successfully securing my role after completing the graduate scheme. Working abroad in Gibraltar, at the heart of our marketing strategy, is an incredible opportunity. I'm confident that the exposure to such talented individuals will not only enhance my personal development but also have a significant impact on my career trajectory as a whole.
What do you enjoy about your team?
What I appreciate most about my team is the genuine openness and support. There's a clear understanding that no question is too small, which fosters a culture of sharing ideas and learning from one another. This environment encourages us to experiment and explore new methods, and it's motivating to be part of a team that values innovation. With many colleagues in Gibraltar being industry leaders, I have the opportunity to learn from their expertise, which greatly enhances my understanding.
I also value the encouragement I receive when proposing ideas for campaign optimisations; it inspires me to seek meaningful improvements in our work. Having a manager who is committed to my personal development is a significant advantage, as it supports my growth in this role.
