Safa Pangarkar Intern Profile

undefined

I applied for the role of Supply Chain Intern during the first term of my second year at City University where I study Business Management. Whilst far from over, the internship has taught me a lot, ranging from how the pharmaceutical industry operates, to understanding how the supply chain department fits within Otsuka and the unique procedures it must follow working in the industry.

Working in supply chain has given me the opportunity to develop and learn skills essential to professional working life. I have been engaged in large scale projects which involved transforming everyday practices within the department allowing me to learn a lot more about project management specific to supply chain. The unique time I have joined has enabled me to connect and speak with multiple people and departments inside and outside business giving me a more holistic understanding of how Otsuka works.

Alongside my day-to-day activities of working with forecasts, raw data and communicating with affiliates, I have had the privilege of attending supply chain summits and external audits. With Otsuka being a global business who works in tandem with global distributors and logistics companies, attending such events has opened my eyes to how the Otsuka values of communication, compassion, excellence and integrity has been upheld. I have felt nothing but welcomed at Otsuka and with the company prioritising the learning and development of its staff, I am excited to see what the rest of my internship will hold for me. To the future interns I hope you are as excited as I was, go in with an open mind and be ready to learn!
