My journey at Skanska began just under 2 years ago. I was drawn in by their focus on sustainability, both environmentally but also socially, as well as their focus on supporting their people.

As a graduate I've been on a rotational programme which has given me the opportunity to engage in various placements throughout the business, such as design, operations, and BIM. Though it has been challenging, I've enjoyed every moment. Having the opportunity to take on responsibility and make decisions in a fast paced environment has greatly contributed to my development, and the wealth of knowledge held by our specialist teams has allowed me to feel supported throughout my entire time.

I've also been working towards my chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers. The structure of the scheme results in a broad experience over the years which allows you to check off a wide range of competencies early on in your career. The numerous chartered engineers in the company are also a great source of learning and guidance and make the process a lot more understandable.
