Please share a bit of background about you including your degree, where you heard about the programme and what made it attractive to you.

After finishing my studies, I wanted to join a company with a global perspective that would help me grow both professionally and personally. I came across the GGLDP programme through a recruitment platform, and what really stood out was how the programme offers diverse experiences across global markets while supporting you to continuously explore and grow. It felt like a place where I could explore my passion, step out of the comfort zone and unlock my full potential. On top of that, Spirax’s culture of respect and inclusivity really resonated with me—it creates an environment where I feel empowered to take initiative, grow authentically and make a real impact.

What rotations have you done on the programme so far & how has each benefitted your development? If this is your first rotation, please share what you are hoping to do next and why.

I’m currently wrapping up my first rotation as a Sales Engineer in Watson Marlow China, where I focused on end-to-end consultative sales execution and business development for semiconductor subsector . This role has helped me build a solid understanding of our diverse products, customers, markets, and value-added sales strategies. Coming from an engineering background, it’s been a great opportunity to understand the commercial side of the business—nurturing business acumen, strengthening problem-solving skills, and developing a customer-focus mindset. I’ve also improved my communication and collaboration across teams, and learned to approach challenges with curiosity and a growth mindset.

For my next placement, I’’ll take on the role of AI solution engineer in Group Digital. I'm always passionate about AI technology and its potential to transform industries, and this aligns perfectly with my interest in leveraging technology to solve real-world problems. I’m really excited about this opportunity and looking forward to creating meaningful impact.

What is your current role & what does a typical day look like for you?

As a Sales Engineer, my days are dynamic and client-focused. I’m involved in the full end-to-end sales process—from the initial enquiry handling and technical discussions to quotation and post-sales follow-up. A big part of my role involves visiting clients on-site to understand their needs and pain-points, propose tailored solutions, and build long-term relationships. I also use our CRM system to help the team capture key customer insights, record information for analysis and track progress, ensuring timely delivery.

Beyond direct sales, I am supporting business development initiatives to identify future opportunities. I am conducting market research and competitor analysis to generate insights for our sectorized businesses strategy.

How has the culture in your OpCp allowed you to make difference or have an impact?

At Watson-Marlow, I’ve felt the strength of a culture that encourages inclusion, respect, innovation and teamwork. From day one, I was encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and be authentic. That sense of trust helped me become more confident in speaking up and contributing to discussions. When I was working on a market analysis project, colleagues from different functions showed great support and generosity with their time and insights. This openness not only helped me complete the project successfully, but also allowed me to learn more about collaboration and grow without constraints.
