Arqiva

Why did you apply for Arqiva?

When I was looking for a job after university there were two things I was focused on; I wanted to apply to a graduate scheme and I wanted a job with variety. Arqiva provided both with a day to day filled with a diverse set of tasks and a graduate scheme that gave me structured support over two years to settle into the world of work and allowed me time to build my confidence in my ability to complete my role.

Describe your role

Arqiva has 1450 sites scattered around the country which need to be maintained. My job involves working out how close our climbers can get to these high power antennas while still being safe, what services need to be reduced in power so they can be approached and maintained and providing RF advice where needed. The role uses both theory and practical approaches to answer these questions allowing for visits to sites and interaction with different parts of the business.

Any advice to potential applicants?

Relax and be yourself. You are not expected to be an expert already so don’t worry if you don’t have all the knowledge. The purpose of the graduate scheme is to teach you over time and so the want continue to grow is one of the most important things.
