Meet Harkirat, a Graduate Building Surveyor

My route into property began with studying Construction and the Built Environment at college, followed by a Building Surveying degree at Birmingham City University. Alongside my studies, I gained experience on construction sites and at an architectural practice. I then joined Carter Jonas as a Graduate Building Surveyor, applying my knowledge across residential and commercial projects while working towards my professional qualification I was attracted to Carter Jonas because of its diverse portfolio and the chance to work across rural, residential and commercial sectors. The variety of projects, including listed buildings and estate properties, really appealed to me, alongside the strong APC support, collaborative culture and excellent reputation. I’m finding the graduate route very rewarding, as it combines structured learning with hands-on experience. Working on a range of projects has helped me develop key building surveying skills, build confidence and gain valuable experience while progressing towards my APC.
