I graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 1998 and have since worked as an NHS General Medical Practitioner in Yorkshire for over twenty years. Prior to this, I worked in East Africa and New Zealand. I am also a General Practice Trainer and a former Director of the Airedale GP Training Programme.
Since 2020, I have been a TPP Clinical Advisor, where my responsibilities encompass clinical risk management, regulatory compliance (including DCB0129 and GDPR), and the development of safety documentation. I provide guidance on data protection, ethical data use, and assist in creating clinical content. As a Clinical Advisor, I also offer expertise in clinical workflow and support usability testing. Additionally, I provide strategic advice on emerging healthcare trends and innovations such as artificial intelligence. The role can be summarised as championing a clinical safety culture throughout the organisation, bridging the gap between clinical practice and technological development.
It is great to be an integral member of a team that is so committed to advancing patient care through technological advancements. By constructing clinical record systems that facilitate the seamless capture and precise use of data, we create meaningful benefits not only for patients and the clinicians who care for them but for the broader healthcare system as a whole.
The collaborative, supportive environment fostered by talented and dedicated colleagues at TPP greatly enhances my professional fulfilment and makes the work all the more impactful.
